THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED BUT SCROLL DOWN TO SEE PHOTOS OF C.R.I.B.S. DONATION.
It’s time…it’s time to do a contest. Every blog has to have one, right? So I dug deep and decided to give away a foldable Timbuk2 bag. What’s even cooler is that the lucky winner gets to choose the type of bag and the color (messenger v.s. duffel). I’m also doing a matching donation (in cash) to one of my favorite charities so please read the details below. It’s a giveaway that gives back!!

Winner gets to choose the type of bag and the color! Just scroll down below for more product information.
How to Enter
There are four ways to enter the contest.
1. Join POTM on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pinayonthemove
2. Subscribe to POTM posts via email. I’m not going to spam or send you any email chains. It’s purely to deliver posts from my website. You can find the subscription option on my top right sidebar widget.
3. Retweet this contest post on Twitter or share it on Facebook. It could also be your favorite post on this website. Make sure to tag me on Twitter: @grachececilio
4. Join the C.R.I.B.S. Foundation group on Facebook. I hope you can consider donating time or money to help. Even spreading the word about their cause on social media would be awesome!
Rules & Mechanics
1. Only a maximum of three (3) entries per person will be allowed.
2. The contest is only open to residents of the US and Philippines (sorry folks I can’t afford international shipping for now).
3. You must comment on this post by letting me know that you are joining the contest while indicating where I can find your entries. Ex. “Done- just joined on FB, tweeted and subscribed =)”. Other comments such as which type of travel bag you would choose (messenger or duffel?) is optional. I think a bag says a lot about a traveler.
4. Only one (1) winner will be selected. This will be announced on the website, Facebook and Twitter. I will also contact the winner via email. The winner will then be given two (2) days to respond to this email or the prize is mine! (just kidding-I’ll give it to C.R.I.B.S.). Note: item color may be limited to what the manufacturer has in stock.
5. Winner will be randomly selected by using http://www.random.org/lists/. So if you submit three (3) entries then your name will appear three (3) times on the list to be randomized.
Contest Period
April 19 – April 26, 2011
WAIT- more on giving back
As I have mentioned, I am matching a donation to the C.R.I.B.S. Foundation. Beginning this year I made a pact to be more conscious about giving back. Since I’m going on a trip to Philippines this May, I made sure to also schedule a day at C.R.I.B.S.
C.R.I.B.S. was started in 1974 in Manila by two Lutheran missionary wives who took home five sick babies from the Reception and Study Center for Children of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. This was the beginning of a Foster Care Program by a non-government organization in the Philippines. C.R.I.B.S. runs several programs which focuses on receiving and placing abandoned, surrendered or neglected children from 0 to 2 ½ years old. They also have a residential program for young female survivors of sexual abuse aged 7-17 years.
The place is just phenomenal because they provide a nurturing and therapeutic environment for the care, healing and recovery of each child. For those living in the Philippines, you can donate your time through their volunteer resources program as promoted on their website . For those living abroad, you can also help by sending a donation since they have Euro and Dollar bank accounts setup for your convenience .

Thanks to all of you we were able to give back! Here’s a photo montage with the updates as the caption.

Last May I carved some time out of my vacation to visit C.R.I.B.S. and spend time with the babies and little kids. Photos are not allowed inside the facility but I’m telling you that these children are so cute. I also witnessed first hand the love and dedication the staff and other volunteers have for this organization. Aside from the matching donation I was also able to privately raise some donations and the total amount donated came up to about almost $300. What a win for C.R.I.B.S.!
